SpinX Technologies SA today announced the sale to Life Technologies, Inc., of an exclusive, time-limited, Option to acquire exclusive rights to its Virtual Laser Valve (VLV) technology for use in the automated preparation of certain DNA samples. This Option is exercisable within a year, pending demonstration by SpinX of the validity of its technology for these applications. Financial and other business aspects of the deal will not be disclosed.
Developed to enable the integration and automation of a broad variety of laboratory procedures on a single, plastic, disposable Card, SpinX’s VLV technology has already been validated in applications as varied as characterizing compounds for drug discovery, or obtaining protein samples for X-Ray crystallography.
